Just set it down flat ... or press into the ground depending upon the terrain. The upright, short standards insert into the legs of your animal target, the horizontal ones provide stability. When pressed into the ground, where the terrain is sloping, the short, angled standards may be interchanged as the upright. This keeps your target on a vertical plane for stability. But with the separate pieces, you can slant your target uphill or down to provide the realism of the hunt.
